Chapter 12
The Bonetrade Ledger
Audited by the Financial Marrow Commission, Sealed Volume 119-B (Confidential)
In the global markets, value is no longer tied to gold or oil. It is indexed to bone density.
The Bonetrade Ledger records all transactions of osseous value: femur futures, ulna options, skull-cap derivatives. Traders scan marrow bonds for microfracture trends. Tooth enamel is a luxury asset. Pelvises are stable, but only when cooled.
Every transaction leaves residue. The Ledger absorbs it. Some say it hums.
One broker — name struck — tried to inflate their clavicle yield. Used composite. The Ledger retaliated. His bones liquefied over breakfast. The spoon fused to his wrist. The Commission issued no comment. Only silence and a revised yield curve.
The market persists. Babies born with high-density phalanges are now considered trusts. Old femurs get milled into escrow contracts. Skeletons are notarised. Audits are performed with echography and guilt-index metrics.
The Ledger grows. It never forgets. And it never forgives unpaid marrow.
Moral:
- All value is bone, eventually.
- Never speculate against your own vertebrae.
- Debt ossifies — and Ledger bone cannot be buried.
